Easter weekend: birthdays, time with good friends and a relaxing Sunday!

Why is it that weekends always fly by? I know it is so cliche but I swear the more fun I have, the quicker they go! I also think the longest stretch of the year is from NYE to Memorial Day because there aren’t any scheduled holidays for me off work. Maybe I should find a job at a bank?? These two wish weekends lasted longer too!

Friday night was my friend Ashlee’s 30th birthday party. We have birthdays a day a part and I’m one year older…she likes to remind me of that too! We went to Maloney’s, a local sports bar, for her birthday dinner. We had some appetizers and drinks on the rooftop patio with perfect weather. We had a lot of fun catching up with her friends and family but we were home and in bed by 11:30. Somewhere along the line I turned into an adult!

Saturday morning we went to visit Levi’s aunt and uncle so that Levi and my cousins could fish on their pond. I sat by the water and read a bread recipe book. His Aunt Robin makes delicious bread and uses this book so I read up on some fun recipes and tricks for making bread. It was super windy but the sun was out and felt great on the dock!

Saturday night we went to dinner with Kim and Chris for my birthday. We went to a local Mexican restaurant, Ponaks, and had some of my favorite margaritas! In my opinion the clearer the better 🙂 Kim and Chris surprised me with cupcakes from Small Cakes! The only picture I took all night was of my margarita but that’s the most important part right?!

Sunday morning my parents, sister and brother in law came over for Easter lunch. We had so much good food and I didn’t have a chance to snap a pic. However I have found out that I am not a good mashed potato maker. I over boiled them so they were a little mushy…oops! Either way we still had a good time!

After my family left I was super productive and did some things around the house. I then did a detox face mask from Caudalie. I am obsessed with face masks on Sundays because my face usually needs some TLC after the weekend. I’m going to do a post on some of the masks I have tried too in case you are in the market for a new one!

(Levi told me I look like an old woman with my mask on haha!)

Our succulent planters are growing so much…I love decorating with flowers and plants. It makes your house feel cozy. Plus they are super low maintenance.

I received my first Birch Box this weekend. My best friends got me a Birch Box subscription and a Sephora gift card…they know me well! I can’t wait to try out some of this stuff and review it for you.

I hope your Easter weekend was spent with friends and family too. Now I am off to finish my laundry and hopefully I will get to bed early!

What is your favorite subscription box? Birch Box? Ipsy? FabFitFun?
