One of my favorite ways to unwind and get ready for the week ahead is to do a Sunday night face mask. Our weekends are usually super busy and almost always involve a few cocktails or a happy hour so after a long week and busy weekend, my skin is in need of some TLC.
I tend to have sensitive/dry skin and the ones I am talking about today have seemed to work well with my skin type! I buy all different masks types and brands but the ones below are my favorites.
This one is one of the more expensive ones but I was able to try a sample first. It really does tighten up your skin…in a good way. It isn’t drying but I feel like it kind of tightens and helps with crepe-like skin at the same time.
Plus it is a peel of mask, which is so satisfying to me!
This one is super budget friendly. You get so much for the price too. You do have to mix this one up and I use apple cider vinegar for mine. This one makes my skin feel so fresh, and so clean, clean!! (Thanks Outkast!) But honestly this is like one big pore reducing toner for you skin. Annnnd the apple cider vinegar is an anti-bacterial agent, so it helps stop acne from growing and spreading!
I am all about facial peels. However, I have super sensitive skin so I am always a little leary of peels. This one is just strong enough to feel it working but not too harsh or drying. I feel like I have had a little facial after I am done. Caudalie is a tad pricy but they have smaller versions of the masks so you can try them out before you splurge…but I think they are totally worth it!
Sometimes after a weekend of heavy makeup or sweating I just want a good exfoliation. This one is perfect for that! You apply the mask and wait 15 minutes while the red algae clay refines and purifies your skin. Then when you use warm water to wash it off, the volcanic clay exfoliates dead skin off with super tiny granules. Smoother and tighter skin in one! #winwin
You skin takes a beating through out the day, especially from pollution and the sun so this is perfect for a little skin pick me up!
This mask is great for an all over detox. It helps to refine skin and remove impurities while repairing free radical damage!
The great thing about some of these masks, like the clay ones or even the Caudalie masks is that depending on what you need for the different parts of your face, you can apply accordingly. Sometimes I will do the L’Oreal exfoliation mask around my forehead and chin and then do some of the Amaki Clay on the rest of the face.
If you are unsure of what works or if you have sensitive skin, buy from Sephora or Ulta. They have great return policies and will accept anything back that you don’t like or doesn’t agree with your skin!
What mask is your favorite? Have you tried the ones above? Thoughts?
